RADIX DLT – DeFi Decentralized Financial Protocol

One of the main trends of 2020 in the cryptocurrency industry is decentralized finance projects, the so-called DeFi. Now new projects appear almost every day, and all thanks to their unique concept of providing traditional financial services such as loans, deposits and insurance, but only within the framework of a decentralized and confidential system.

  • However, many DeFi projects face the problem of scalability of modern blockchain systems, especially Ether with its 14 TPSs . And developing your own blockchains for each DeFi project is an extremely unprofitable undertaking , which, moreover, will not be convenient for users.

But the benefit is now actively developing a blockchain, which is sharpened specifically for decentralized finance projects, and which has an appropriate level of security and scalability. The project is called Radix .

The creators of the Radix project believe that DeFI projects can change the world and that the future lies behind them. Therefore, a blockchain is being developed that is ideal for use in such projects. I will not go into technical details, just say that the blockchain works on the unique Cerberus protocol , which was developed by the Radix project team . This algorithm, which underlies the blockchain, makes it as resistant as possible to attacks of various kinds, including the same types of hacks as “51st percent attack” and “Sybil’s attack” .

  • In addition, the Cerberus protocol , together with the Proof of Stake consensus algorithm , allows you to achieve a high level of network reliability and prevent network failures, even if several of its nodes fail. Therefore, it is safe to say that the Radix blockchain is a completely resilient system in terms of the task of the Byzantine generals.

But apart from this, the Radix network will also support a high level of scalability, providing both a large number of transactions and almost unlimited opportunities for creating tokens and launching smart contracts. The currently announced transaction speed will be more than 1,000,000 transactions per second , which is several times higher than not only the performance of blockchains, but also the capabilities of many fiat payment systems.

This is largely achieved through the use of the Proof of Stake consensus algorithm, which is much less expensive than Proof of Work , which means that it will allow a large number of stakers to join the network. Moreover, the creators plan to reach the level of the minimum node balance of only 20 coins , so that everyone can really become a staker.

And of course, since the Radix project has its own blockchain, then it will be powered by an internal utility token. It is called XRD and will be used not only for staking and earning, but also for paying commissions, both by ordinary users and by creators of smart contracts and tokens.

  • Initially, 12 billion XRD tokens will be minted by Radix developers , which will gradually, in small portions, be released from blocking, over a period of at least 10 years . Such a period is necessary in order to prevent strong token inflation, which the creators plan to keep at 2.5% per year.

But since the project is currently at the development stage, the project team plans to release an ERC20 version of their token in September 2020 , which anyone can buy. Now, while the project did not have some kind of official sale of tokens, development is being carried out at the expense of private and venture investors, the list of which is listed on the Radix website .
